@grapiedeltaco: Horror writers are unafraid to make people actually messed up, not just possessive in an all-black wardrobe #horror #darkromance #bookrecs
i also recommend The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw! more romantic than most books i’ve read in the past year and gave me butterflies

Not sure if you’d be interested, but Thrum and Entity by Meg Smitherman are kind of like sci-fi/horror romances! They were my first and only reads of this genre so far and I enjoyed them both.

Feast While You Can was transformative. Not only is the prose so poetic that the horror moments caught me thoroughly off guard enough to scare the shit out me but also the romance is seared into my brain for good. It’s sapphic love done so so right.

I’ve had Slewfoot on my TBR for ageesss I should probably buy it. I’m usually a monster romance enjoyer, but I’ve found a lot of those stories to be too fluffy lately. Now I want something kinda gritty and horrid if I’m honest 😆 so these books sound great to me. Not so much a horror but I found ‘A soul to keep’ had some horror elements to it, the main character Orpheus literally ate people and there was quite graphic violence scenes in there

I had a really hard time getting through the obscene misogyny of the first chapters of Slewfoot and DNF'd. is it maybe time to push through?
