@belightcare: Helping someone with dementia drink more comfortably? Meet the nosey cup. As people age, conditions like kyphosis—a forward bending of the neck and back—can make drinking from a regular cup really tough. When someone can’t bend their neck back easily, a standard cup might bump their nose or spill, and straws aren’t always an option due to medical conditions or swallowing precautions. A nosey cup solves this problem with a simple innovation: it has a cut-out for the nose so the person can drink without tipping their head back. It’s great for anyone with reduced neck mobility or swallowing guidelines that say not to lean back. Not sure if this would help your loved one? Try this easy test: take a disposable cup and cut a notch for their nose. See if it makes drinking easier. If it works, you can get a more durable nosey cup for daily use. We have one for my husband who is in a wheelchair with a head rest. The head rest prevents him from tipping his head back. Game changer

Wow! This would be great for me. I have essential tremor and frequently bop myself when drinking water to take pills.🥰

Actually, those are pretty common here and have been around for years. This was super useful for one of my resident with CP who was able to drink completely independently with a similar cup (different brand) with handles.

My father would have insisted on drinking from the cutout. Dementia, plus never listened to anyone before.

At my last facility we had 3 of them, they were green and the amount of times I had to go hunt those down cause they would get left in random places 😂 I love those things
