Neil I have an 18month old. I have £9000 to put into a junior isa and willing to forget the money and it’s there’s when they turn 18. I will continue to drip feed across the years. Where should I go with my 9k I have now? So confused

I saw one of your videos roughly 2 years ago now talking about this and opened a JISA for my newborn son. And through regular £25 investing as well as putting Christmas and birthday money into it he's now got about £1800. Really chuffed and hope he'll have a healthy pot by the time he turns 18. I've decided to increase contributions by 2% each year.

I have 2 junior stocks isas with H&L and add money per month but don't know how you can use that to automatically buy stocks, do you have to do this manually when you have a minimum available to buy stocks?

I have this for my boys but didn't set up the dd initially as thought I could go back and sort. Turns out the only way to do it is by printing a form which is posted back to them. So frustrating!

What % allocation would you suggest having between Cash ISA & SSI as a 22 year old? SSI is for retirement and Cash ISA is for shorter term expenses (I already have an emergency fund separate)

If you start a pension instead it gets a tax top up from the government

I don't know if I'd trust my kid with that. I just use my lisa for him.

Don’t do it. Imagine turning 18 years old then getting access to possibly thousands of pounds with limited financial life lessons. What could benefit them in the near future could be lost by their crazy spending habits. Instead put the money in your own S&S ISA but treat it as your child’s money. At least you have full control over when you believe they’re ready to be given such a huge amount of money.

Hey Neil, slightly late to the party but for me lucky my pension is pretty good…. Have just opened HL Junior ISA and saying if only 25 quid investment can only do 1 fund, to do 2 funds as per your portfolio would have to do 2 x 25 pound is that correct?

We have started investing all my sons child benefit for this exact reason. I want him to be able to have financial freedom and teach him the value of money

hey just wondering when your kid turns 18, are you planning to let their junior ISA roll into an adult one? or thinking of moving it to another platform or something?

My youngest was born after the cut off for a child trust fund so I set up a junior ISA for her and am putting in £30 a month. Then I setup a pie on trading 212 and am putting in £50 a month. She should have around £8k when she's 18. She's sensible enough to take some out for driving lessons but continue to invest once she gets to 18
