Having worked in scheduling for 3 providers I understand both sides. Of course we want to make sure our patients have adequate time with their patients. The chatty comes when they start talking about fishing, golfing and football. Then the chop is necessary 🤣

The people saying at least he's spending time with his patients don't understand that half the time they're not discussing the patient. They're discussing personal things, politics, family members, their hobbies, or anything else under the sun that can put us behind.

I waited very patiently for 2 hours for my rheumatologist to see all his other patients the other day, and then he saw me. We spent an hour going over the tests I had recently had what else I need to do and what meds he thinks will work and the ones he won't. I didn't complain, I knew my turn would come, and my next visit is set up so I am the last patient of the day, so I don't have to wait so long. My appointment was at 3:45 I didn't leave until almost 7.. I have extremely complicated health conditions.. my rheumatologist and cardiologist are both like this with me.. I wait for my turn, I want the other patients to get their questions answered too.. it takes months to get in with some Drs we have to fit a lot into an appointment.

As a patient of his, this is truth! He spent so much time explaining how my eyes have changed due to my type 1 diabetes. I enjoyed the visit so much, now my entire family goes to him and his father’s practice! 🫶

Why is the drs appts booked so far out, can’t you just squeeze me in… why’s he taking so long, “nothing ever gets done on time, I’ve been waiting an hour (10 mins )why is he taking so long but god forbid his team keep him on schedule

I was an x-ray technician for a busy podiatrist. Keep on a battery powered doorbell and kept it in his pocket. When his assistant needed to move him on, she would just ring the bell and he would cut the visit short and run onto the next patient.

how about scheduling few apts in a day to allow more time for patient/dr interactions, which would lead to better communication and more precise care. I hate rushed care. so m8ch gets missed or overlooked.
