@turkeytravelplanner: Choosing where to stay in Istanbul depends on what kind of experience you’re looking for. Sultanahmet is close to major historical sites like the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, but it’s touristy, more expensive, and quiet at night. Beyoğlu (including areas like Cihangir, Galata, and Karaköy) offers more dining, nightlife, and a mix of local life with easy access to public transport. Kadıköy, on the Asian side, is a more laid-back, local neighborhood with great food, markets, and ferry access, but it’s farther from main attractions. #IstanbulTravel #WhereToStay #Sultanahmet #Beyoglu #Kadikoy #TurkeyTravel #IstanbulTips #citytravel

You fail to mention important things. It’s one of the safest areas in Istanbul, its close to the above ground metro line that takes you anywhere, and grand bazaar is pretty close.

🤔 stayed in the Sultanahmet Palace Hotel, with a balcony overlooking the Mosque. Totally magical. Lovely area, warm and friendly people, and easy walking to the park and other attractions. Only 3 days, but perfect. ❤️🏴👍🏻

As someone from Sarıyer I can honestly say that this area is the beating heart of Istanbul. It’s where you can soak up the energy, fell in love with the nature Istanbul has to offer, the beautiful beaches, the nicest restaurants, the beautiful little villages like Yeni Köy and where you can walk over out beautiful boulevard

also if you want to pray 5 times in the great masjids in the area its a must to stay here, better than any so called night life.

Always stay in Kadikoy, best food and bars and you get to ride the ferry to and from each day!

4 years I'm going twice a year to istanbul and always stay in sultanahmet, and always at the same hotel and I wouldn't change it
yes maybe it's more expensive eating but to be honest as soon as they see you are tourists they will give you tourist menu anywhere you go , been on asian side quite a few times, been taksim, florya etc and to be honest this year I was literally shocked at the prices for food literally more expensive than England
i understand tourism and I understand you do this to make a living and ok charge me 2 3 times more the normal price but 22 pounds for chicken wings on the street ( nothing fancy ) is just nope , 10-12 pounds for lentil soup too
and the changing of prices happened in supermarket too as the turkish guy in front of me with 3 bags paid a fraction of what I paid for some drinks and sweets

As a Muslim who loves to travel and pray in historical mosques, I loved being close to the Suleymaniye, Haya Sophia, the blue mosque to go every day for prayers. I do get it’s probably not the best place for authentic food and local vibes. I especially liked day trips to the Asian side like Kadikoy
