@successelozona: Back in my uni days, I honestly started from scratch. No bed, no curtain, not even a fan 😩. I slept on the bare floor for the first one month and used a wrapper as curtain. I couldn’t afford a fan then, and my caretaker at the time will always mock me for not having the flashy things others had. It really broke me. My room was always dark. The bulbs in the apartment were bad and I had already used the small money I came with to buy a mattress and basic kitchen things. I didn’t want to stress anybody back home, so I just managed with my torchlight. There was this particular girl that used to enter my room and laugh. She’d say, “Ah ah, this your room empty o. No curtain, no bulb, always using torch.” She’d laugh like it was nothing, but deep down, it hurt. I still smiled through it, but that day, I quietly stopped letting people into my space. Little by little, things started falling into place. I got a proper bed, bought small things here and there. That same room that was once empty and dark became my peace. My pride. My safe space. Something I built from the ground up. Funny enough, the same people that laughed at me? They started coming to that same room to charge their phones, watch their favorite shows, and just hang out. Typing this now brought back so many memories. If you’re currently in that season of starting over or starting from scratch, please don’t give up. It takes time, but you’ll get there. A lot of people are shocked by the kind of content I post because it’s real, it’s raw, it’s intentional. I’d rather use my story to motivate someone who is still trying to figure things out. There’s nothing wrong with starting all over again and getting it right. Take your time. You’ll grow. You’ll shine.
