@celestiadrienne: Since my recent post of highlighting my biggest musical influences got more appreciation than expected, and some Warpaint fans have come across my page, I wanted to share more about my love for this band 💜 I discovered Warpaint around 17 years old, almost 12 years ago. I was an aspiring self taught musician and I had never heard or seen anything like them before. I felt that they made the kind of music I wanted to make. There was something so natural about the way they played together, seemingly effortless and free, like a sisterhood who communicated with one another through instruments. I admired this so much, the bond they shared through music, as a group of women. I felt like their music blended everything I loved. Psychedelia, moodiness, intricate spacey guitar lines, groovy bass lines, dissonant harmonies. I fell in love with their live performances; as true Warpaint fans know, that’s the real magic of this band. 12 years later and I’ve been to a handful of Warpaint shows, have met them, have a tattoo dedicated to them on my arm, and am still the biggest fan of their music. It’s really helped me through life and I have so much love for them.
