@mommymango: So many moms are told to “just engage” without being shown how, and if your core is damaged after pregnancy, it’s even harder to know what on earth this means... Your deep core wraps around your entire midsection, and its job is to hold your organs in and support your spine. When it’s not strong and working well, you get coning, leaking, back pain, and yes… the mom pooch. To engage it, try one of these 3 visuals: 1. Imagine gently pulling your hip bones together 2. Pretend your belly button is lower than it is, then draw it straight back. 3. Picture zipping up tight jeans without catching your skin. This is how you actually engage your core ladies! 😋 (and if you hold for 10 seconds, do it 10 times and do that 3x a day, then you'll start strengthening your core!)
