Correlation is not the same as causation. Being outside also means you’re more active 🤦‍♂️

Anyone who believes the sun is killing us doesn’t understand …hiding from the sun and toxic sunscreens is the problem

Being outside doesn’t mean you’re spending a lot of time in the sun. If you live in Canada and you’re outside for most of the year, you are covered up it’s healthy and refreshing but you’re not exposed to a lot of sun.

But was it the sunlight that afforded the benefit? Maybe people who spend more time outside are moving their bodies more than the indoor group

Correlation ≠ causation… the women that were outside probably were more active as well which might have been an even bigger factor for health than just fresh air and sun as we know, that too much sunlight on skin isn’t good. Also, let’s not forget that Sweden has strong winters and if you’re not living in the south (I’m guessing and hoping they had participants all over the country), it is dark for months with almost no sun at all… So yes being outside is definitely healthy and great but there are other variables that need to be taken into account when looking at this study

Do people in predominantly sunny countries have less cancer & cardiovascular disease?

Original study on UV rays on mice found one factor that created cancer= mice on a poor sugar diet + uv radiation. Mice on healthy diet were fine. It’s nuanced and we’ve never been taught this.

That's why it's advised to take vitamin D if you live in some countries. deficiency is very harmful

I doubt those people in the study had the same consistency of sunlight exposure for 20 years. Correlation doesn't equal causation. There are many factors why people are outside more i.e. exercise or outside active jobs that benefit health rather than the implied benefit of sunlight.

For all the folks saying it’s physical activity and not sun. “Research suggests that both play an important role. It’s not a matter of one being inherently more beneficial than the other.”

Been scared to go out in the sun since the 80s media said we'd get skin cancer. Now have a vitamin D issue. 🤨🤨🤨
