yess i love this book so so much!! i read it before watching the movie and im so glad i did because if i watched i dont think i would’ve understood it as deep or connected with elio as much. i agree with what you said about not feeling sad, i felt the same. elios authenticity and acceptance was so beautiful to read

Hey guyss i watched cmbyn yesterday and i wanted to ask some questions! So i really enjoyed the movie it was beautiful but there are alottt opinions about oliver and elios relationship so some say oliver pretty much used elio as in an summer fling and some say it was love and that confuses me so here is how i viewed it- i think elio and olivers relationship was real they both had feelings for eachother and i like to compare their relationship to the phrase : is it better to speak or to die? Oliver is die he loves elio but chose to leave him for some reasons one is that in the time the movie plays same gender relationships arent as supported as today, so there is the fear of it oliver could lose his job and all, and also his parents (father) would not support it that all lead to oliver being in fear and pulling away, he married because it was expected from him not because he wanted it. Now elio he is speak he is also the one who confessed first- cause i wanted you to know.. he doesn't care as much of the homophobia and also his parents are more supportive so he grew up with parents who accepted him for who he was so he has less fear than oliver but in the end they loved eachother thats how i view it and i would be really happy about yalls opinion about their relationship. Also im not very sure how to view the age gap i was pretty confused but i understand that many people were uncomfortable with it so yes please tell me yalls opinions i would really appreciate it
