You know what makes me sad young people on here mocking judging and rudely insulting these senior citizens who obviously can’t help themselves and instead of understanding it and acknowledging it their judging the young staff and volunteers doing their jobs. People who work with the elderly I applaud you and you deserve nothing but respect. Young people who can’t understand whet is wrong with you you should be ashamed embarrassed and be educated.

I worked at a nursing home for awhile. Fun but sad cause they die. Or the nurses are mean to them.

Ppl in these comments don’t understand trying to contantly make them sit down and remember as much as they can about their lives just stresses them out once they’re at a certain point. Filling their days with simple activities that get their bodies moving (for some this also makes them feel productive without anything actually hinging on them doing something correctly), mitigating pain and boredom when you can, is all you can do for dementia and Alzheimer’s patients towards the end. Many ppl also have strokes which can cause them to be bored by literally ANY activity and there’s not much to do about that much make sure they aren’t depressed :/

yall dont realize how much these residents genuinely enjoy things like these. please until you have worked in an aged care/nursing home/memory care ANY ELDERS HOME IN GENERAL dont bring these people down for doing what THEI RESIDENTS ENJOY. reminder you are not with these people everyday for days on end like we are. we are there with them when they pass and take care of them after theyve passed on. most of you in these comments making fun and saying “this looks boring” or “just let me leave” DO. NOT. GET. IT. we know what our residents enjoy. this facility seems to know who likes to do what. theres a few that are just watching SOME JUST LIKE TO WATCH!!! doesnt mean its boring. im an 18 year old activity aide and i thought this was AMAZING! we do this with real balloons and noodles and call it “Noodle Ball” its my residents FAVORITE. i think if this facility went through the trouble of getting and interactive floor KNEW there residents would be fascinated and enjoy it. weather theyre playing or not its still engaging them to get out of their rooms or hell STAYING AWAKE! most residents sleep most of the time watching the screen and/or hitting the paintballs is keeping their mind activie and awake.
