I’m probably in the minority on this but i think documents should be unsealed for family of victims only. As much as the general public wants to know, they have no right to it and the families should decide what they want shared about their loved one’s final moments.

This is absolutely shocking. Gag order was put in place immediately after kohbergers arrest. It’s been in place coming upto THREE YEARS. He’s plead guilty. Why the F would anything still remain sealed? Why the secrecy? Absolutley astonishing

The families have the opportunity to make victim impact statements at sentencing but when they don’t have all of the evidence/facts before hand feels deeply unfair.

because the American Constitution still provides a right to appeal and gives him rights to withdraw the appeal under specific grounds (from a criminal lawyer).

By taking the plea deal, he’s greatly diminished his ability to file an appeal. However, the law DOES permit and protect his right to appeal under a few circumstances still—such as ineffective counsel, withholding of evidence, certain procedural conditions, etc. So while yes he is limited in his appellate abilities, it’s not black and white.
