I stand firmly for summer fun. I feel like students should read that they should read things that they like, but let them have some choice in the matter rather than a packet. Let’s have a list that they can pick from or let them submit the books that they’d like to.

unfortunately we have a school wide policy that all ap classes have a summer packet and it's in a big google drive folder on the front of the school website and is emailed to us like every week so all the ap teachers are well aware and make it 20 pts graded every time

since we got ai. js use Ai js in case if the actually collect it, it takes like 15 minutes with ai, maybe even less

I will never forget on the summer of my eighth grade we needed to do a personal project (entries of 3 months) and book report (around 10 plus pages) for the Cambridge program as it was part of the curriculum. I was the only one the next year who did and got ridiculed by the teacher who assigned it.

My middle school gave us summer packets and they had all the teachers go through them to check and if we didn’t finish it or even missed punctuation we had to stay a hour every day after school til it was finished. We had homework detention for regular hw assignments as well🫤

We had a summer packet that was mandatory for like honors math class going into 8th grade, teacher for the next grade would send emails out about it, but then she literally died in the middle of summer and new teacher had no clue so I never did it and it was no issue
