I need help, im limited on time because I'm doing a cruise. i would like to visit St Peter's basilica, and the colosseum. I only have Saturday and Sunday in first week in September. Do I need to purchase tickets for these 2 places?

I bought a ticket with a stairwell, but the kind security guard allowed me to take the elevator. But there were no lines, and the heat was incredible. I took the stairs anyway for a more enjoyable experience 😃

Yes, it gets steep and narrow but the view is incredible. The bonus is part way up you are behind the huge statues that are atop the facade.

I did this 17 years ago. I loved Rome and Italy. The steps were fun and it's quite narrow at the top so no claustrophobia is recommended. I think I bought my ticket together with my ticket to the Vatican Museums. I didn't know about the grottos then, something to come back for 😍

Very cool. I’ll definitely do that when I go. My aunt did a package tour of Rome. She said it was a bit hectic but she loved every minute❤️

I went up through the dome a long time ago, when I was a teenager (1968). The view of Rome was amazing. I have some fantastic photos from up there.
