@rachelbacco: It wasn’t the grocery store. It wasn’t a birthday party. It was just the front yard — and still, the meltdown came. This is what it’s like to parent a child whose world feels too loud, too fast, and too unpredictable… even when nothing “big” is happening. You’re not weak for needing help. You’re strong for showing up — even when the neighbors are watching. 📥 DM “HELP” for support tools that actually work when regulation fails outside your front door. ⸻ 💬 Drop a 🧠 if you’ve ever stood in your yard trying to hold your child and your composure. 📲 Save this for the hard days. 📥 DM “HELP” for tools that meet you where the chaos happens — even at home. #a#adhdparentinga#adhdkidsa#adhdsupportm#meltdownmanagementn#neurodivergentkidsa#adhdstrugglesr#realmomlifea#adhdfamilyt#traumainformedparentinga#adhdmomp#parentinginthechaosy#youarenotalonea#adhdtruthb#behaviorvsneedsfyp
As someone with ADHD in the military, this can be tough, especially when your nervous system says you’re being disrespected when in reality it’s just the military being the military.

I have adhd, when I was younger it was “I just talked too much” when I got older it turned into anger before I got a diagnosis my mom had to learn to parent a whole new way to help me, and I had to transfer to a special school and that really helped my anger and adhd get controlled and managed

I have adhd and autism, but I don't think I've ever had a meltdown or anything like that. Poor kiddo.

I know people are sensitive to it but I wish more people posted their young ADHD child's meltdown so I can feel less alone and know it's not "just a phase" and that I'm over reacting

When my son goes through that I pick him up and I give him a hug and tell him that he’s loved it helps a lot.

Speak to their heart, I have adhd and “ forcing” me made it worse but talking one on one with genuine love and respect helped me” comply”. I was only hard headed when it went against my personal values( mom yelled at me when I tried giving an unknown homeless man money and said no he needs it!). also asking “what’s wrong” helps, and sometimes it can be overstimulation which taking a break away is the only way.

My son was just diagnosed. He is our youngest and first time understanding it. Once we had the official diagnosis we could move forward helping him and helping us learn a new way to parent-IT IS NOT EASY but life is much better knowing how to maintain the melt downs

Yes!! This is such an unknown territory for the average person. I think it’s hard to comprehend unless you have a kiddo with adhd. I feel you friend.
