@save.our.families: This becomes a problem for infants since lactose, found in milk, is composed of glucose and galactose and cannot be tolerated. When mothers cannot produce breast milk due to malnutrition, infants in Gaza need formula; and when formula cannot be found since the occupation has blocked its entry it leads to pediatric malnutrition; and when babies that need specialty formula like lactose free or soy milk cannot be fed, it leads to death. Adam has stunted growth and in addition to special formula, he also needs medications for his kidneys, liver, and bone health. The Sameer Project provides these for Adam and will continue to provide them until he is medically evacuated. Right now, his symptoms cannot be properly managed in Gaza and he has reached the point of severe malnutrition and toxic build up of glycogen in his liver and kidneys. Babies like Adam deserve a chance at life, deserve not to cry endlessly from hunger. And mothers deserve the ability to provide for their children and keep them safe. Adam needs transfer abroad for medical treatment and assistance while he is in Gaza.
