@thefabgyn: Hormone replacement isn’t about fighting nature — it’s about helping our bodies function when hormone levels decline. We can support women through menopause with estrogen or testosterone replacement when appropriate. Yes of course I know it’s not the same disease process as diabetes or hypothyroidism — but it is the same physiological principle: your body needs hormones to function, and if it’s not making them, we can help. Menopause is natural. So is aging. But that doesn’t mean you have to suffer through it when treatment exists. Especially when symptoms affect your sleep, cognition, bones, skin, and yes — vaginal health. Let’s break the stigma around hormone replacement therapy for women. This is evidence-based care, not vanity. 💬 Respectful discussion welcome — this space is about education, not shame. #womenshealth #menopause #hormonereplacementtherapy #vaginalhealth #gynecology

But you can die from diabetes. Menopause is not going to lead to your death.

Although I agree and I take HRT myself. You can’t really compare menopause to hypothyroidism or diabetes. Those two are disorders. Menopause isn’t.

Not to mention the protection for our hearts and our brains. Taking HRT helps prevent cardiac episodes and heart disease and helps prevent dementia and osteoporosis. Also as mentioned helps with sleep, brain fog and mental health which for some is life saving.

Not to mention muscle pain that is debilitating because of the lack of hormones.

Women literally end their lives because of menopause and doctors are so backwards in many places and misogynistic.

For those of you who think women shouldn’t take HRT, please keep your opinions to yourself. I have personally experienced the difference in how I feel and what my labs say. I will continue HRT and enjoy #lifeafter50

It’s more that menopause is part of a decline and because we are living longer managing that decline means we live healthier for the last 3rd of our lives. Plus it’s miserable. I love bioidentical progesterone 🥰

comparing menopause to disease is not logical. menopause is a natural life transition that every woman will pass through.

The mental part of the hormone change is what affected me the most. I had debilitating mood swings and couldn't handle anything slightly difficult. Got estradiol a couple of weeks ago and my head is so much clearer, I'm so much calmer. In hindsight I have had these problems for about 8 years, but at 41 I got divorced in that same period, so no one thought about hormones.

The amount of uneducated comments regarding HRT is shocking. Do your own research into HRT and what happens to women's bodies when they don't or can't replace their hormones. Fine if you don't want it but please don't tell other women it's bad for you, it's not.

It is totally different as every woman at some point will go through perimenopause and menopause as it is a natural stage in a woman’s life but getting diabetes or thyroid issues isn’t normal and are diseases and should be treated as such whereas perimenopause and menopause are not.

women in menopause should eat healthy, quit alcohol, cigarettes, do cardio and fitness every day and rest/sleep well. then 80% of the problems are gone.
