CRNA here. You forgot the insane positions they put the leg in to do this and muscle stretching causes most of the pain. I had this and was back in work in 3 weeks.

a friend of mine had this done, the first Dr. who did the surgery did not even, connect what should have been connected.... when she was in rehab her leg would go all over. she had too go through surgery again 😩
