Your problem of comparison lies in that zhajiangmian has many versions in China, jajangmeon being Korean Chinese food, is a version of that. So you are like comparing “apple” as a whole, to “Granny Smith apple”

Guys, the Korean version was Chinese version but made with limited random ingrediants cuz korea used to be dirt poor and scarcity. For people saying it beats the original is baffling me.

Americans would never consider these Americanized dishes like General Tso's chicken or Kung Pao chicken as American cuisine. But once Koreans get a taste of dishes like zhajiangmian, tanghulu, or malatang, they immediately claim them as Korean traditional food. It's utterly absurd.

This comparison is not quite true. There are dozens of varieties of zhajiangmian-style noodles across China. The Koreans just learned a modified version of zhajiangmian based on the northern regions.
