Yall totally misunderstood this text🤦🏽‍♀️. If you read before Mathew 18 Jesus was asking “who do you say that I am” then Peter replies you are the messiah.. Peter was making a divine revelation and Jesus then praises Peter for this divine revelation and makes the famous statement in verse 18.- jesus did not mean that Peter was the first pope.. the Roman Empire did that not Jesus
