My friend Chica did a food review today of what she called a “Ratchet Sandwich” and the minute I saw it, I knew what I was having for dinner. 😂 Two Southern Classic chicken tenders sandwiched between a Southern Maid donut. Y’ALL. Southern Classic is some of the best fried chicken on God’s green earth and Southern Maid is, period, full stop, the best donut in America. I said what I said. 😂 So naturally I decided to put the Ratchet Sandwich up against Chick-fil-A’s new waffle chicken sandwich, and of course I got mine SPICY because sweet + savory + spicy is basically my love language. There was just one little problem… SOUTHERN MAID WAS CLOSED. 😑 At this point I had already bought the chicken and I was committed, so a random Circle K donut got called up from the bench. 😂 And listen, it did its best, but we ALL know this was not a fair fight. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious, and Southern Classic chicken by itself? Still undefeated in my book. BUT judging strictly by the two sandwiches I ate tonight… 🏆 Chick-fil-A takes the win. HOWEVER. There will be a rematch with the REAL Southern Maid donut because I believe in a fair judicial system. 😂🍩 And Southern Classic, while I have your attention: WE NEED SPICY CHICKEN TENDERS.
