The thing is that, a lot of people have a family where everyone works. My spouse and I both work full time jobs. The only real time I have to do cooking is the weekend and believe me, you don’t want my husbands cooking.

I work 50 plus hours a week, and have a family to take care of, but I still cook dinner at home every night 😊 but I love to cook so it’s fun for me. It’s not always an extravagant meal, but it is made at home

I also think it’s a wonderful creative outlet. I love coming home with an urge to make something and just look at my fridge and pantry and say “I can make something with those canned tomatoes” and go from there. It’s so rewarding to be able to make something myself and get compliments for what I make all the time from my friends and family! But importantly make what feels right

The Omnivores Delima by him is a great read! So is Animal Plant Miracle by Kingsolver. Both say: eat good food, mostly plants and make it yourself using things as locally as possible.

Thing is, so little people actually do have time to cook from scratch. Imagine a couple both working full time Monday to Friday/Saturday. 8am-4pm, then picking kids up from clubs, then getting home, bathing kids, prepping for next day, feeding kids, by the time all that is done most people would rather just sit down for half an hour and put something in the oven than cook, which I think is understandable, and nowadays a couple both working full time on minimum wage still only earn just enough to keep afloat, rent is sky high bills food prices childcare school costs car fuel etc etc. the art of cooking is a dying one because society has driven all its consumers to work to the bone and scrape just enough to survive while not having enough time to cook, socialise, spend enough quality time with kids and animals.
