Problem is govt will likely promise all kinds of things that impact young people but they are too young to realize the govt will not follow thru.

Scotland lowered the voting age to 16 for the independence vote as they had a say in their future. This has been kept in place for local and Scottish elections. There’s not been a problem with it.

I think it's a good thing.
I'm not sure how many actually will so I'm not convinced it will have a huge impact.

maybe had they have been able to vote at Brexit then we would have stayed, as now we are out of the EU it making it harder for them travel around europe

It's all about Labour trying to rig the vote. If they thought the young would vote Tory or Reform they wouldn't do it. However I suspect they will be slow to introduce this and if subsequent polling suggests it's not going to favour them they will withdraw it. If being fair and representative is the way forward they should introduce PR.

if they're paying taxes from their paycheck, they absolutely should have the right to vote.

starmer says that they are old enough to pay taxes. so..... they are old enough to be tried as adult in court snd release names. this is because he thinks labour voters are young. how very putinesque....not doing it for them lol

That means judges will be more likely to try minors as adults. Do we really want this?

I've always said that at 16, they're old enough to work and therefore pay taxes. If they're old enough to pay taxes, it's only fair that they are able to vote so they have a say in how those taxes are spent.

it's great next step for any government is mass conscription for 16 year olds to front lines

As the reform demographic is solely the older generation which they are terrified of. Also lowers the conscript age with upcoming conflicts.
