So from my family to yours, these are some non-toxic swaps in my home that make sense to do as soon as possible: ❌ Teflon and Non-Stick Pans ✅ Instead, use carbon steel, cast iron, 18/0 stainless steel, and 100% ceramic ❌ Synthetic Sponges ✅ Instead, use a 100% natural loofah ❌ Toxic-Coated Parchment Paper ✅ Instead, use natural butcher paper or unbleached and uncoated parchment paper with beeswax if needed ❌ Splenda or artificial sweeteners ✅ Instead, use 100% organic raw honey (local if you can) or 100% organic maple syrup ❌ Pesticide-soaked coffee ✅ Instead, drink organic, mold-tested coffee ❌ Vaseline ✅ Instead, use 100% natural ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, or grass-fed tallow (if you can eat it, it's okay to use)! ❌ Plastic toothbrush ✅ Instead, use natural toothbrushes made from materials like boar hair bristles and wooden/bamboo toothbrushes (avoid electronic toothbrushes as well)! ❌ Fluoride toothpaste ✅ Instead, use fluoride-free natural toothpaste (check to see if it has hydroxyapatite (make sure it is the right particle size) to remineralize your teeth and protect your oral microbiome). ❌ Bleached toilet paper ✅ Instead, use a bidet if you have the funds, or look for unbleached bamboo toilet paper to save you and the environment from excess toxins.
