Women’s Confidence as a Threat • Many men (and some women) are unconsciously threatened by a woman who doesn’t center her life around being chosen, partnered, or mothering. • They confuse self-expression with “seeking validation” because they’re uncomfortable with a woman taking up space unapologetically. 2. The Policing of Women’s Voices • When women share joy, clarity, or contentment outside of traditional roles, they’re often shamed for “broadcasting” it. Yet no one says this when someone posts about their marriage, kids, or family. • The idea that “true happiness is quiet” is a silencing tactic. 3. Projection and Gendered Assumptions • Comments like “if you were truly happy, you’d be off the internet” make literally no sense. They’re just a shame tactic. • They project their beliefs about fulfillment onto you, and your divergence from that threatens their worldview. 4. Women Don’t Need to Be Chosen to Be Worthy • Women sharing self-love and sovereignty are not asking for permission or validation. • I’m modeling what it looks like to be connected and sourced from within, and that’s radically unsettling to anyone who hasn’t learned how to do that for themselves. 5. We Need More Representations of Women leading alternate lives • Visibility isn’t vanity. It’s medicine and it’s normalizing. Especially for women who are breaking social, cultural, and lineage patterns.
