There’s no such thing as part time driving, it’s simply too expensive and the fares are literally bus fares.

I have been taxi driving for 20 years , I was earning more back then with less overheads, it’s part time and dive in at the peak times now , fortunately I have another job to subside my income now 👍👍👍

With the overheads of running a car as a PH vehicle, being part time won't even cover those bills..The only way it's even remotely possible is to be a % driver for an owner driver on a local circuit, zero overheads aside from your badge, and keep 50% of your takings. As Mat said, if your running your own car and want to work PT, deliver food or parcels as there are very little overheads so you keep more of your income.

couldn't believe someone the other day saying bought a car for 25k and its going to last ten years so that's 2.5k per year for the car, if he keeps that car his costs will be double that at least but that car will lastm5 years tops so 50k over 5 years is 10k per year plus insurance and fuel that will be another 25% on his costs so on average £1k per mth, but taking holidays or vehicle off road you will loose 10 weeks so that's £10,000 lost which needs to be added to his 1k per mth costs.

Private hire is part time only as you can only make money if busy/peak time rest day uber sledge prices and it’s £1 a mile that’s not worth

But there is plus side 😅.. he’s got a tax free nice car to drive. On payroll working for the money, pay tax on it, get car finance,,that’s gonna come out of your taxable income. 🙂

It’s definitely possible if you own your own car outright. It’s actually a good side earner. I do it Thursday to Saturday and sometimes on a Sunday. Can’t rely on uber full time anymore
