@pierzza: Some of the oldest olive trees in the world reside in Palestine. Olive cultivation there is a deeply rooted practice that holds a sense of connection to the land, its culture, and history. It accounts for over half the cultivated land in the region and provides thousands and thousands of families their primary income. It’s a tree that, like the Palestinian people, is highly resilient, surviving harsh conditions. Despite this resilience, these trees and the people who have tended to them for thousands of years are being uprooted and destroyed. The current destruction in Palestine is focused on removing the people and their culture from a place they have called home for thousands of years. @Canaan Palestine is a fair trade cooperative producing incredible olive oil with ancient olive varieties. They work with 2,400 families across 52 villages throughout Palestine. Through the Palestine Fair-Trade Association’s Trees for Life program, you can plant a tree in Palestine via Canaan’s website. You can also support thamra_org , a Palestinian organization focused on food sovereignty and land restoration.
