@pridebrary: The Doctor has always been gender fluid, from the Ninth Doctor flirting with Jack Harkness, to Jodie Whittaker, to Ncuti Gatwa’s yassified energy. There have been many episodes of Doctor Who: the Van Gogh the doctor episode, the Doctor Who animation episode, and of course the Doctor Who moisturizing episode! But one thing has remained clear, this show has always been inclusive for POC, women, and LGBTQ+ people. Russell T Davies is def in the top queer artists to follow. He started this show with a Doctor with aroace and pansexual vibes, and he's going to end it that way lol. Literally Time Lord canon. This is your gender fluid edit of Doctor Who. #doctorwho #doctorwhotiktok #whovian #LGBTQ #thedoctor #genderfluid #pansexual

the Capaldi era was more 'woke' than the Whittaker and Gatwa eras combined...

9 was flirty with Jack and it was adorable but 10 was far more of a flirt with Jack in my opinion

When the doctor kissed Rory it wasn’t on script that’s Arthur’s actual reaction

Let's not forget the Classic series with stories from The Pertwee era that had Climate issues in ''The Green Death'' all thanks to Barry Letts

if i remember correctly they wanted it to have more lgbtq representation back in the 60/70s but censorship was still in high control in the UK. there was an open gay character back in and eps in 1965.

agreed. my issue is the writting. there is no interior consistency to the rules of the universe. things just magically happen whenever they want it too. they've lost the plot.

I love this even though I never really got into it. I couldn't get past the really old corny episodes at the time haha yet I would watch the old cringy star wars movies 😂 i guess I should give it the time of day haha

It’s been woke since the original series! The original series! The first episode was directed by a gay immigrant I think? (Feel free to fact check) it was produced by a Jewish lady, like it didn’t need to GET woke.

I wouldn’t even argue that the recent show has been woke if we’re going off the official definition. An awful lot of its villains are just shallow archetypes of each of their respective social commentaries, it doesn’t have anything profound to say. Plus giving a wheelchair using character rocket boosters isn’t empowerment, you have to start out by giving them an actually fleshed out character

Ironic that you say that the Moffat era wasn't as queer, when it literally established timelords changing gender and had an openly queer companion. Also 12 is easily the wokest Doctor probably ever
