the original Hebrew says "My/I hardened heart - pharaoh" it would be more accurately be translated that God's heart was hardened against pharaoh.

the pharaoh believed he was god and to have someone tell him what to do would just harden his heart. (the will of the pharaoh to dominate the will of God) we know how it ended.

Drives me crazy... why cant the Bible just be absolutely clear in its message. Why the need for priest and apologist to clean up contradictions. You'd think God would be the a ultimate communicater. We shouldnt have to guess what God actually means by the text...after all its the most important message for humans... its literally life and death. There are over 35,000 denominations of Christianity because everyone has their own interpretation of scripture.
