@aircrashbriefs: ✈️ This United Airlines Boeing 737-700 suffered a wing strike during a rough landing attempt. The aircraft touched down hard, bounced, and the right wingtip scraped the runway. Thankfully, the pilots managed to go around and land safely on the second try. ⸻ #UnitedAirlines #Boeing737 #WingStrike #AviationIncident #GoAround #PlaneSpotting #PilotSkills #FlightDeck #AviationDaily #TikTokAviation
Don’t worry, you’re completely safe. These planes can fly on one wing alone, that’s why we built them with two

It’s ok. That’s just the lower warning winglet. It’s designed to disintegrate on impact to warn the pilots.

pilots first reflex is to go back up, so what is the plane is not air worthy which they have no way of finding out until it's too late

LGA runway 22? Makes sense as there must’ve been serious wind for a 737 to be landing that direction

Since the 737-700 has two winglet types one that isn’t split and one that is I like to think that they just got rid of the lower winglet on the other side to even it out.

Need to stitch this to the video of the airplane mechanic talking about pilots flying them like they stole them 😆

Back in my day, we were taught how to make a crosswind landing without wrecking the plane.
