@jazminznoe: Why is it that when everyone else names their identity, it’s seen as empowerment… but when we do it, it’s seen as a threat? The African Union just declared 2025 the “Year of Justice” and called us their “Sixth Region.” Not because they care about our history—but because they see us pushing reparations here in the U.S., and now they want in. Meanwhile, cities like L.A., Tulsa, and St. Louis are fighting for reparations rooted in our lineage—Foundational Black American lineage. But the moment we say we’re not African, people from every corner of the globe get uncomfortable. Why? When Zohran Mamdani, an Indian-Ugandan man, claimed “African American” on a college form, he got dragged for pretending to be one of us. Kamala Harris got told she “wasn’t Black enough” even though she leaned into Black American culture for political gain. Karen Bass, with a Cuban grandfather, just signed off on giving cash stipends to undocumented immigrants—while FBA neighborhoods stay underfunded and over-policed. So we ask again: Why are y’all so mad when we say we’re not African? Why is our clarity so threatening? We are Foundational Black Americans. Not a diaspora tag. Not a sixth region. Not a costume. We are lineage. We are legacy. We are the foundation. Drop “FBA” in the comments if you stand on that. Tag somebody who needs to hear this.
