Plumbing work and wiring will be difficult in bricks 🧱... Everything has to run on surface.

We use them in Germany as well for the same reason. Energy is super expensive and insulation is key to keep the cost down! ❤️

We rarely use bricks in Kenya and legally, you cannot even build a house above 2 floors if it is bricks.Bricks are common only in the Western part of the country and the South Eastern part where red soil is common and ideal for brick making .
In the Highlands, Volcanic rocks cut into rectangular blocks are used. These houses last almost forever if well maintained and you can build even 10 floors with them with concrete support of course.
At the coast we use coral limestone. Given that the entire region sits on a massive coral limestone block anyways.
However generally speaking most apartments above 10 floors we use pure concrete blocks. They are not hollow and actually have to meet specific standards.
I have seen hollow blocks only in very remote parts of the country where bricks are rare and volcanic rocks and limestone do not exist.
Because nothing is hollow, we use a lot of cement layering because the water pipes and electrical pipes also have to be covered on the inside.
