I completely understand this! My grandfather raised me and my mom never got herself together enough to come get me… but had other children and raised them. It’s such an isolating feeling! Our relationship now is pretty much nonexistent 🤷🏽♀️

My maternal grandmother was this way. Her grandparents raised her but her mother went away and had other kids and raised them. My gma never went back to her mom and got married young to my gpa.

Sounds like she got rid of her old kids for her new family. She didn't want her kids to get in the way of our new marriage. That was actually common in the south in previous generations. They would leave children that were not their husbands with family
