Big ad for the Peninsula. I don’t get the appeal of the Grand Bazaar at all. If you don’t want to be harassed you walk down the center and don’t look left or right. Not shoppers heaven. Mainly rugs and Turkish delight. Stay on the Asian side (recommmend Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamis Marina) - cheaper and more relaxed - easy to take a ferry across to the European side. 100% agree about the VIP option at the airport as it is huge and makes the process extremely smooth. Istanbul is one of the coolest cities I have visited.

Do not miss going to a Hamam or Turkish bath house. It is something you will not experience anywhere else!!! This is a must!!!! It’s amazing

unfortunately Hagia Sophia has been turned into a mosque and not a museum anymore there you can not enjoy its true beauty anymore as its forbidden to walk the main area as its a prayer room these days which is the most amazing aspect of the visit and enters is 50€ entery fee and don't get to experience the full beauty and no artefacts as previously displayed..I was disappointed..however still an amazing visit.

I’m not long back (27 June). Flew BA too. Got the 5pm flight home. I stayed near the Penninsula at the Maestro hotel. Lovely and a slightly lower price point. I was overwhelmed in the GB so would love the bag shop rec for next time 😊
