Sergio Duenas :
There’s some misinformation. Peter the Hermit *did* lead a peasant army, but the “Main” crusader force was thousands of professional knights led by various princes. The First Crusade wasn’t *just* a bunch of peasants, many thousands of knights took up arms as well.

The crusaders absolutely were not untrained peasants only Peter the hermit would fit that description leading the peasants crusade before the real crusaders arrived

Didn't they have dates, figs, and apricots in Italy already? Didn't all of it already make it to Western Europe by then?

Is PanForte a pre curser to Christmas fruit cake???? It’s spiced dense candied fruit with nuts! This was the worst my grandmother made it and made us eat it I hated it as a kid but would remake it with less green candied mystery fruits

That’s not really true the Crusader armies were just made up of peasants, they had thousands of professional Latin knights. These were one of the greatest soldiers of the time.
