I am a cyclist. When you’re in high traffic pedestrian areas YOU STOP FOR PDESTRIANS ALWAYS. If it gets super busy like a farmers market I just get off my bike and walk through it. Pedestrians come first ❤️it’s safer for everyone involved

NYC cyclists are off the wall with their I can fly wherever I want in the bike lane. You’re lucky it was a cyclist and not a e-bike going 30 or a scooter or even a motorcycle.

A friend of my was pregnant and was runover by a bicyclist crossing on the sign. She lost the baby and the cyclist was charged with involuntary manslaughter. They don't think things like that can happen. Surprise! Your actions have consequences too.

Cyclists scare me more than cars in NYC! They don’t stop at lights, they will go the opposite direction on a one way street, and ride on the sidewalk.

Totally agree with you- she wasn’t right to act like that. cyclists shouldn’t speed through crosswalks, especially in a city like NYC. That’s a valid pet peeve. But as a cyclist, one of mine is when people treat bike lanes like sidewalks. They walk in groups, block the path, and ignore the fact that it’s clearly marked for bikes.

Brooklyn bridge park is the worst with this. They put speed bumps in the cycle lanes so the cyclists now just ride in the pedestrian paths. I shouldn’t have to dodge bikes while walking or running.

I have dogs that are on 4' leashes and usually walking ahead of me. I am on 1st Avenue and hypervigilant about watching for bikers. Because they sure don't watch for me or my dogs. 🥺
