When he became completely dependent on me emotionally. He was not even able to buy his own clothes without my approval. It was wild. I left him but managed to stay in touch as friends for 24 years until one day wheb drunk he confessed that he never stopped loving me. He left his wife and I dont know if he counted on something or not but anyways, I broke the contact completely.
