my daughter just got diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy, 2 and a half weeks ago we lived a normal life, then suddenly she collapsed in the store and went unconscious she had an impending doom she said she didn’t want to die right before the seizure she’s 4 i still cry at night thinking about what she said the fear she felt, she’s had 7 seizures since then, having the emergency button called on her twice in the ER as her heart rate was dropping from the seizures. we got sent to a bigger children’s hospital 24hours away and we got the confirmation that she had epilepsy. i’ve never felt so helpless and scared.

I’ve gotten that call. The rescue meds didn’t work. He was at school. They had the audacity to ask if they should call 911…umm yes and he was promptly air lifted to a children’s hospital.

I woke up to my husband having a Grand mal seizure in our bed the day after Labor Day. After being discharged from the emergency room, saying there was nothing they could do unless if he had them, we went back home and not even an hour later he had another one. The fear is consuming and so rough.

Best thing I do to prevent them is keep hydrated 24/7 (especially during these heat waves), no lack of sleep, and can’t miss the daily meds once your brain is relying on it (my mom was seizure free for 15 years with the lowest dosage of Meds and missed one day and had one)

I feel this my friend, and then trusting that they will use the emergency medicine, administer it correctly, while dialing 911 and timing it. My son is 5 and got diagnosed with epilepsy May 5th and I feel like we've been living in fear since. We did get the SaMi monitor for when he sleeps and its allowed us to somewhat get some rest ❤️❤️

my son had seizures just after heart surgery and I had this same thought so I come to conclusion I would just never leave him 2 years later with no seizures for the past 1.5 years I still can’t leave him x
