I was there from germany in nyc on vacation in 2023. i always wanted to visit ground zero. But when i was there, i had that strange feeling of peace and emptiness… the sounds of nyc nearly muted as i stood there at one of the pools. I saw a white flower and the american flag on one of theese names. I somehow just wanted to cry but couldnt.

i went in 2017 and walking right up to the memorial, it was kind of surreal how quiet the city got with the water drowning out all the sounds. no one was talking either
