Nobody should be working 40 hours a week and not be able to afford to live no matter their skill set. Everything takes skill.

I understand your point. $100k is crazy. However, food and beverage and retail make up a good portion of jobs in this country. Working 40 hours a week should provide a living wage. We need housing and cars to fit the wages being offered.

every human being deserves to be able to afford housing and food if they're working 40 hours a week.

But also someone thinks they deserve 100k?! You do if you work for it and have SKILLS, But it sounds like entitlement at its worst!

Some people aren’t capable of solving big problems. It’s good to see them work rather than just sitting around on government assistance. However a good days work deserves a good days pay and everyone needs to be able to afford a home and all of the other life necessities regardless of career path. We need low income homes and better public transport.

It's hard to work 40 hours, I've been unemployed for about 23 years in nyc living in section 8. Sometimes 5 hours is too much

the problem is not about the pay or minimum wages. it's because everything so expensive. imagine rent is 500$, gas 7$ when filled, eggs 99cent per carton. we need more companies, more cooperations competing each other to make price down. we need more people who dare to do that not complaining about better pay. Rich only created by the poor, what we facing right now because people scare to become rich, scare to competitive, scare to lose. example lawnmower, the price in the past are still the same right now but compared to income it's going up and no one dare to raise the price, why?. because there are many people who are willing to do that. and that simple

One of the reasons I can't move back to the bay area is because librarians typically don't get paid enough to live there. Stanford had a job for a part time academic librarian that paid $2,600 a month. Full time salary, that would be $62k a year before taxes at a world class university in one of the most expensive places to live in the WORLD for a job that REQUIRES a masters degree. I get what you're saying but if the people with "skills" don't think their librarians are "low skill", they can do their own god damn research and manage their own data libraries themselves.

Most people work minimum wage work but asking for maximum hourly paid, that’s ridiculous. No wonder AI can easily kick them out from the industry
