I am a John deere tech. Worked on these for years. 10psi rear 15psi front. Foot switch is factory Fyi the rear hood comes off by opening 1/4 and lifting straight up. I would fold the Rops down when on flat ground. Otherwise when you hit a tree branch with it you will do a wheel stand and likely hurt yourself. Plus folded back it protects the hood.

Save yourself some time and get some no flat tires. That's the first thing I did when I get my John Deere zero turn . I was constantly having flat tires.

The foot control was factory, on those the newer 997’s have a switch at the end of the handle bars to lift it

The foot deck lift is a convenience item. If you’re moving, you can’t really keep going forward and lift the deck for an obstacle if you have a hand switch.
