This ONE part cost half as much as the bike. Old cylinder head is too far gone for my capabilities. This video idea came from a comment I got suggesting I could repair it. Unfortunately that's beyond my skills at this point. Just out of pure speculation, I'm guessing the steps to repair this cylinder head are as follows: 1. Clean, clean and more clean. Sand or vapour blast wouldn't be a bad idea either. 2. Clean up high spots in combustion chamber with a rotary tool 3. Machine out the damaged cam journal, as in, only remove enough material to clean up the damaged area. 4. TIG weld the now missing spots in the combustion chamber and cam journal 5. Re-machine the cam journal and cam cap. Re-shape the combustion chamber with a rotary tool. 6. Remove and replace damaged valve seats and guides. 7. Cut the valve seats and ream the valve guides (if necessary) This is just speculation, as I said in the video: this level of repair is beyond my capabilities. I may try to repair the head in the future, but that will be time consuming, and I want to move on to the next phase of this project. I also don't know what alloy the head is, or what kind of tempering it has. If I do repair the damaged head, It'll need allot of research prior. I appreciate the video idea from the comment. Today I was working on a YX600, there's lots of footage I still need to go through and edit.
