I don’t get these numbers. Mortgage for me is cheaper than rent. Is he assuming mortgages are more? Why would I rent when I can spend less and then own it? U less he mean maintenance costs etc

This actually happened to me. He didn’t want to he thought it was too risky. I did it anyway and now it’s a beautiful rental property I rent for displaced families. We weren’t married at the time so I didn’t need his permission or approval.

Both my partner and I wanted to buy a house. I decided not to buy one with him because his parents decided to include his brother into it as well and that made me uncomfortable. It’s too big a decision and money to not be 100% certain.

I understand his perspective if you're savvy and investments, but buying a home allows you to control things that you cannot control if you're renting. Landlords can raise the rent refuse to fix things when you own. It's yours and you can do what you want make it what you want sell it if you want to rent it if you want. So I don't understand this guy's perspective, but I'm not a millionaire and he is.

My house wasn’t an investment, it is where I live. I don’t need an ROI on it. I bought it because it’s my home. I don’t think homes should have an ROI.
