Watching it, I fully felt for the first time that we’ve lost Gen Z. Their brains have been prematurely calcified by the internet. I was watching it trying to pick out a single debater who I thought might at least be still capable enough of critical thought to change their mind in the future when presented with better information, but I genuinely don’t think any of them are still capable of the type of introspection necessary to be affected.

I have no idea why people are hopeful. It’s like you’re blind. Coining the phrase here, but it is what it is. Too many centrist democrats, and many on the left generally, are acting as a "Last-Chance Cassandra". In Greek mythology, Cassandra was a Trojan priestess granted the gift of prophecy by Apollo, but cursed so that no one would believe her warnings. She foresaw the fall of Troy, the Trojan Horse, and her own death, yet was powerless to change the outcome because people dismissed her as mad or hysterical. So I’m 33 I don’t consider myself ‘the youth’ at all but I will say. There is a line being drawn right now. And it seems to me that the Dems looking to match energy and ‘play dirty’ have WAY more support and I am here for it. Look at Gavin Newsom. Personally, he’s not my favorite…but I LOVE the energy he’s bringing. I really think he’s a front runner for 28. He’s straight up saying ‘if Texas redraws its maps so will California…there is a reason he’s so popular right now even though he’s not as progressive as many people (myself included) would like. So our side both youth and not are down to play dirty. When they go low we go high is a thing of the past. When they go low we need to go subterranean—to quote Roxxane Gaye.
