honestly if the valve core is leaking its usually found because the customer has already noticed the AC isnt cooling well. better off just recovering the system and replace the valve because youre gonna need to recover to recharge anyways 🤷♂️

I’m a mechanic 45 years and I’ve never fixed anything with a valve core and can’t imagine ever doing it

A slow leak in a vacuum means air entering the system. The system must be drained, fixed, vacuumed, and filled.

That's the High side. Note the H on the cap. The red tool is high side. The blue tool is low side.

Or drain the system and replace it and service the expansion/ orifice tube and dryer or accumulator it probably needs it anyway

I went to recharge my ac again becayse it has a leak so I was just recharging it every week until I could afford to get it fixed and when I went to charge it again the lowside was at like 90 psi when it shoulda been like 45 psi or less which then when I add a can it goes to like 55psi so what would cause that?

If the valve fails wouldn’t the refrigerant already leaked out?

what about rubber o rings they will be the real cause of leaks or a bad compressor seal

There is now room at 95% of the fittings to even get this tool connected. No way it would be a needed tool in my garage!!

See at first it seems great but if they are leaking you are low on refrigerant so might as well evac and recharge the system so you know how much is in there
