All you really need to do if you want to work in the industry is complete your agents representative course (VIC) or the equivalent for your state in Australia. You can do this course online at your own pace and knock it out quickly. From there it’s a matter of getting in front of decision makers at major and boutique agencies. You should have a general idea of which sector you’d like to work in: sales, leasing, property management, valuations and tenant representation (or development but you’ll need to work for a developer in this case).
