One of the problems that we have is looking at everything like a zero-sum game. The officers do not handle this situation well at all, however, these folks who are creating this content have but one aim and that is to irritate. If filming is allowed, the police should just let them film. Ignore them. Why would anyone want to film a building? That would be a pretty boring film. Is this allowed because it is a public building? Would we be OK if the videographer was filming kids and educators at a public school?

First and foremost I support law enforcement. However, just because the words leave their mouth behind the badge doesn’t make it lawful. For it to be a lawful order theirs words have to be supported by written law not “because I said so”. That’s perversion of the badge.
