@iscwellbeing: Psychology in 60 Seconds Nick Saban Psychology in 60 Seconds Nick Saban once said, “Mediocre people don’t like high achievers.” Why? Because high standards expose low ones. Excellence challenges comfort zones. And not everyone is ready to level up. Be kind. Stay focused. Keep rising. #PsychologyIn60Seconds #PeterDuttonPsychology #Mindset #HighPerformance #NickSaban

Lot of high achievers are just flat out unethical…and many of those unethical ones are also flat out unlawful.

Nick is a high achiever at taking free money and giving it to kids who will lie for him. He doesn’t like the kids that won’t do those things and that’s why they had to leave.

Being a high achiever in a mediocre workplace means you get to do all the heavy lifting while management watches. I think they want me off the bus but cant afford to lose me but wont rectify the problems I am forced to mitigate daily instead of doing my actual job.

Unfortunately my bosses are usually intimidated by my successes. I have learned to look at them after an attack and ask “Did you mean to insult me with that comment? What is the reasoning behind your statement?” And they are forced to self-reflect. It causes them shame.

There are so many mediocre people, and so many incompetent people, who are in fact in charge. And to protect themselves, they make a point of getting rid of overachievers.

Good message. I would add that achievement often comes down to motivational intensity. The Reiss Motivation Profile shows that high achievers often score high in Power, Status, Order, Curiosity, or Independence. Others simply express different intensities—which is not wrong. It’s what makes us unique. But it helps us decide who is right for taking a ride on "our bus."
