Tibet before 1958 was a horrible backwards feodal theocratic helljole wich would make KSA and Iran during Khomeini regime look like a walk in the park since western propaganda has done nothing but demonize China for invading it and doing the right thing so most wrsterners have a very wrong opinion avout Tibet also was the LAST non islamic and non arabic country in the world to abolished slavery but that part is always hushed up in the west.

I took this journey in 2007 on my way back down from Everest Base Camp. Lhasa was magical, as was the whole trip tbh, and the 47-hour train journey was an incredible experience.

Am not so sure about it being that difficult as I did walk around Tibetan countryside 18 months ago and did share a home with local residents for about 3 weeks but obviously I didn’t get this train am an Irish man knocking around Asia
