I know not the same at all but when you were doing your CB750, I was doing my CB550 cafe. Now I am doing. GL1000 which is also a boxer engine.

someone who knows pls inform me. Are the bmw boxer engines actually good at something or are they more of a heritage/look kind of thing, like harley and its vtwins.

That Beemer will handle quite a bit better than your Honda. You won't hit the heads.

Port and polish the heads is easy power but you will need to over size oil pan if you add power

My MC Mechanic has a great theory: Mess with your Engine Especially on your BMW) & make it faster, Bigger Cams, Higher Compression, Bigger Carbs/Jets, Higher Flow Exhaust, Ported Heads, all the goodies. It makes the Engine FRAGILE if you push the limits. Stock can be really, really awesome, that’s the way it was designed. Those BMW Engines are famous for their longevity. I challenge you to see how many Hundred Thousand you can put on it with good maintenance Jacob!

My naked 79gl1000 handles better than my 78cb550 cafe. Boxer engines are amazing for low centre of gravity.
